"There Is Beauty All Around" first publication / additional verses

I have been trying to source the first publication of John H. McNaughton's song "There Is Beauty All Around" (or "Love at Home"). Hymnary references an instance in the American Sunday School Hymn Book, dated 1860. However, the scanned source I found at archive.org does not contain this hymn.

Secondly, almost every instance of the song contains a maximum of 4 verses as follows:

  1. There is beauty all around...
  2. In the cottage there is joy...
  3. Kindly heaven smiles above...
  4. Jesus, make me wholly Thine...

I have a version containing the first 3 verses above, and including another 3 that begin:

  • Love becomes a way of life...
  • Anger cools and pressures cease...
  • There's no question you can't ask...

I have not been able to locate the source or confirm the authorship of those 3 additional verses, and I can't remember where I got my copy. If anyone has any leads, it would be appreciated.

This looks like a likely candidate for your source, unless it's also your work. It appears to attribute the text to McNaughton. And it gives the date as 1854.

In any case, I think the longer version is the better version. I wouldn't be averse to singing the verse numbered 4. as verse 7 if it were so presented.
