Eternal Father, Strong to Save

You are here

I am using this hymn, also called "The Navy Hymn" I think, in a devotional this Sunday. I remember seeing a version of this hymn incorporating verses to other armed forces like the army and air force. But I cannot find it even searching the tune Melita. Possibly the multi-service lyric is still under copyright? Do you know where or how I can find the multi-service version?

Cyber Hymnal #1363 https://hymnary.org/hymn/CYBER/1363 has some alternative verses for the air force, army and coast guard

"Eternal Father, Strong to Save" is indeed the Navy Hymn, having been used as such by the Royal Navy for well over a century.  The version you are seeking is called "Almighty Father, Strong to Save" and is the Armed Forces Hymn in the U.S.  Among other locations, it can be found at no. 579 in The Hymnal 1982, published by the Church Hymnal Corporation, an arm of the Episcopal Church.
