I just entered a new hymn instance, c1a in HdVC1967. This is "The Doxology" in the usual evangelical Protestant sense. I noted that there were 9 instances but only one Full Text (from the Calvin Project) and since the Full Text in my hymnal wasn't identical to the one in the database I entered it, hoping there would now be two and they could be compared to one another. But instead the Calvin full text disappeared. The differences were minor. The Calvin version went

Al Dios el Padre celestial,
Al Hijo nuestro Redentor,
Y al eternal Consolador,
Unidos todos alabad.

whereas the one I entered goes

Al Dios el Padre celestial,
Al Hijo nuestro Redentor;
Al eternal Consolador
Unidos todos alabad.

Why did the former disappear when I added the latter?

A full text that is from the Calvin Hymnary Project indicates that the text was saved to the text authority (and perhaps also to the hymnal instance). It looks like the the "Al Dios" text was only saved to the text authority and not to a specific instance. If there is a text in an instance it will show up on the text authority page and "override" any text that was saved to the text authority.

the Calvin Hymnary Project ... where did it get the full text that it gave, if not from an instance?

It is possible to type or copy a text directly into the full text field in the text authority. Since the text is saved to the text authority it gives the citation (to editors only) as Calvin Hymnary Project. When a full text is entered into an instance it overrides or covers up the text in the text authority. However, the text that was saved in the text authority will still be there. (I deleted this one)
