Alternate Lyrics Allowed (??)

What does the "Alternate Lyrics Allowed" Y/N field mean in the tune merge process? I was merging Ira E. Hicks' arrangement of "My Old Kentucky Home", which had been separately entered as "[The sun shines bright in the hew Jerusalem]" into the Foster tune, and this was listed as one of the discrepancies. [Scan] I can't think what this would mean except in the case of a tune under copyright, which this one is not. The Hicks hymnal, Praise Him, is n.d., but cannot be 1923 or later.

The Alternate Lyrics Allowed indicates that the tune is in the public domain. It means that if someone has purchased a FlexScore of a hymn with this tune it is possible for them to use the score and enter their own lyrics.

Thanks!
