Harry Plantinga suggested we use the 22-question Quiz on the Wiki to see what we know or need to learn. So I took it, just running through it off the top of my head, and got 68%. At the end it said something about "results have been sent", but didn't say to whom (since I was not logged in; can't yet on the wiki due to drupal issues with underscores!) and there was no opportunity to review the results. So I went back to the beginning and ran through it again. Got 95%. One more try and I'd pass, but now the page cannot be found. What's up with that, as they say? Such a quiz should be the electronic equivalent of a set of Vis-Ed™ vocabulary cards. The set should not disappear when you've used it twice.

We have two servers connected by a load balancer, and I loaded the quiz on one but forgot to load it onto the other. I've corrected the problem. Thanks for your note.

The results are being sent to Tina Schneider.

Makes sense, and now it's accessible again. I'll run through it another time or two tonight, till I know I've got the 100% threshold under my feet. The only question I don't really understand the reasoning behind is the admonition to *YES* change the key designation (C major to d minor), contrary to the principle at every other stage which says not to change anything, even when you know it's wrong. And since I'm musically illiterate enough—I'm a TEXTS person! though I *can* *sing* *in key*—that noticing that a song is in a minor key rather than the corresponding major doesn't come naturally to me, this is a point on which I will certainly screw up in real-world practice.

PS: I'm seriously thinking of reregistering as Haruo so as to be able to use the wiki more usefully.

Got my 100% score and am ready to get my diploma and enter the workforce.

I still have my doubts about my ability to spot a minor key.

Would one of you with the appropriate security clearance mind making me a practice hymnal?

I've created a training hymnal. Anyone else who reads this and is interested in helping edit the data or enter a hymnal, drop me a note and I can create a practice hymnal for you too.
